Preliminary Thesis: Often times advertisements convey subliminal messages behind there ads, such as male ads convey the message of masculinity.

  1. good observation. the hidden messages are the features being used to appeal to the consumer. and also says a lot about the trajectory a particular ad can enbark on in starting a different trend for male-fashion.

  2. This is a nice start but your outline is incomplete. Clarify your thesis by stating what type of masculinity is the ad that you selected portraying/trying to sell along with the product. If your first point is focusing on pose of the model, then explain the ‘rock’ pose and how the model in the ad you selected embodies that pose. Your second point is a bit unclear; by appearance of the ad, do you mean the design, such as colors, words, arrangement or, as your further detail suggest, the actual clothes the model is wearing?
